I agree with you on changing up the lesson if things are working in one area; I think of it as adapting to where the horse is, not really giving up on some technique. I can come back to it later or on a different day. Sometimes we just don't know why they aren't in a mood to do everything we want them to do! I can't wait until our weather allow us to ride outside again. I hate (and so do my horses) our indoor.
